Lets say a computer, for instance. Where would you say that a computer is considered as you would consider a person who deserves their own rights as a "human being" in society?

To be alive? It would need to be able to learn on its own, and show emotion, and "think" in a comprehensible way. Seems an odd question.

No, probably not. A human isn't necessarily the same thing as a person. If someone lost the ability to learn, they would lose... something that makes them a person. If they lost it before learning anything, then yes, I suppose.
