Thanks, man.

Also, my laptop has a little window in the corner that says:

"Get Windows 10"

I am afraid.

Hold for at least a month or two. Really the only reason to go to Windows 10 is directX 12 and there will be nothing using it until the holiday buying season. Let the other people beta test the new version of Windows and figure out what is and is not compatible.

This goes for every OS release for all others reading these words. New OS deployments always suck, they always break something and are usually patched withing 6-8 weeks.

Yes, that's my plan. If I had a backup laptop, I'd give it a spin. I can't really afford to deal with troubleshooting what already works for me atm.

Aaarrrrggghhhh, that pop up fills me with hate. I intend to go to 10 but I want to wait a few weeks to let them iron out any problems with the install.

Ohhh, mine too. I, uh, want it to leave and I tried asking nicely but it doesn't speak English.

I was afraid to click "get to know Windows 10" but I do need information.

You're not alone. Apple is constantly pushing their latest crap. iOS or OSX - there's always a looming update barking for attention.

Yeah, I am on Windows 7 without a touchscreen.

There is so much that can be broken.

BUT YOU MUST HAVE A TOUCHSCREEN DON'T YOU KNOW?

I have nothing against touch screens. but the notion of progress and "innovation" for their own sake REALLY bugs me. How about making the OS more efficient? How about REALLY focusing on stability, usability, and security? How about forgetting all of the gadgety crap? This goes for everything: cars, phones, computers, appliances. Just settle down and stop acting like every new feature is a must have in the modern world. whoa... rant over.

I just ate an everything bagel with cream cheese. My screen does not want these fingers.

the residue bagel grease and poppy seeds facilitate better tactile response from the multi-touch substrate.
