My only PC is a laptop, so I am looking for other ways to pass the time on here and utilize its capabilities.
Examples of what I'm talking about: tagpro.gg - only uses arrow keys. great for a laptop with no mouse/keyboard.
bloons tower defence - on kongregate, only uses mouse
haxball - like tagpro but soccer
What are some of your favorites?
Try Hearthstone. I gave it a try earlier this year and now I'm hooked. It's brilliantly strategic and a lot of fun. Plus you can get it on mobile devices now and play it on the go. Everything is saved to your battle net account so all your cards and decks and such are available to you across all devices.
Used to really enjoy freeCiv ( https://play.freeciv.org ) and Stratagus ( https://launchpad.net/stratagus ) when I had a crappy laptop and needed a strategy fix. If you like rogue-likes Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup ( http://crawl.develz.org ) may also be up your alley. Poking through some of the Wikipedia lists of open-source games ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_open-source_video_games ) or abandonware sites ( http://www.abandonia.com ) could also be a good idea.
Adding onto this to say to check out myabandondonware (http://www.myabandonware.com) ! The site has over 5,000 antiquated games. The only issue is that it can be a rather lengthy process to get the games to work on modern-day machines.
Team Fortress 2 is still my favorite FPS game, and now that it is free it is even more so. You can play offline and learn the maps against bots, you can run local servers at LANs and there are many, many servers with just about every rule set you can imagine.
That's one reason why I like PC games on http://www.kizifan.com . Many have dynamic campaigns, skirmish mode, mission-generators, depending on genre. Add mods to the mix and you get very long-lasting games.
I'm partial to playing Town of Salem in-browser. It's a web-based take on the game of Mafia and/or Werewolf (depending on the game-mode you choose). If you've never played something like this before, this is a description straight from their webpage where you can also find the game (http://www.blankmediagames.com):
Warning: In a game based on lying and deception, people can get rather salty. A similar site is https://epicmafia.com/. It's more text-based, but has a greater amount of roles and customization to be played around with.Town of Salem is a browser-based game that challenges players on their ability to convincingly lie as well as detect when other players are lying. The game ranges from 7 to 15 players. These players are randomly divided into alignments - Town, Mafia, Serial Killers, Arsonists and Neutrals. If you are a Town member (the good guys) you must track down the Mafia and other villains before they kill you. The catch? You don't know who is a Town member and who is a villain. If you are an evil role, such as a Serial Killer, you secretly murder town members in the veil of night and try to avoid getting caught.
You mean browser or just connected to the internet? I like Kingdom of Loathing Torn is also a good RPG but there is a bit too much grinding away. I've only just started there so I'm sure it gets better. Solid, well made site though. Not in browser but I really like PokerTH too. Recently got into old school MUDs. You can find out more here. Action-wise - SUPER HOT.
http://www.flipline.com/category/flipline/ And http://www.deadfrontier.com/ Both great And AQW, I don't care enough to link it since I personally feel it has gone downhill but I met my girlfriend of 5 years through that game in a way so I have to give it SOME credit.
After all these years, I can't believe Ferry Halim is still up. Everybody should check it out. The games on there are simple, fun, and beautifully created. There's something there for everyone. My personal favorite is Bubble Bee. In fact, I'm bookmarking it now to keep myself from forgetting about it.
I used to like Fantasy Online and it felt like a really fleshed-out 2D top-down MMORPG. However, the game wasn't profitable and it quickly got shut down, which is an absolute shame. Runescape is also really good, regardless of whether you choose to play the current game or play Old School Runescape (the version from back in 2007, with minor changes and content patches).
Simple flash game I enjoy from time to time, its kind of a simple RTS: http://armorgames.com/play/2267/warfare-1917 The classic, everybody should have played it at least once ;)
Welcome to Hubski! Personally, my internet is too slow for games that are multiplayer-only, but I do like some Flash/javascript games like Free rider and Incredibots(Though, Algodoo is better if you can bother downloading it) A lot of us are! I'd like to note that Hubski is not a reddit replacement though, Hubski is better for interactions due to it's infrastructure but worse for finding content due to it's smaller userbase.#hiimnew #imfromreddit
Oh! Have you played their new game? Sunless Sea! It's a rogue-like but it's also a bit of a text based choose your own adventure kind of game. It looks amazing. You would also probably love King of Dragon Pass. It's not free, but it's worth every penny.
