Horror Vaculi - Return of the Empire
blackQueen - Sleepless/Deathwish. There are not nearly enough Christian Death covers in the world.
Jamie xx - Loud Places. Throw on a pair of headphones or a good stereo system and the chorus and bridge on this song becomes the best 30 seconds of music written so far this year. RATATAT - Cream on Chrome. New track is fire and has me very excited for their new album.
I've really been into twenty one pilots lately. Especially stuff off their new album. I've also found my self listening to Childish Gambino's Camp on repeat. And repeating You See Me and Backpackers whenever they come on.
Listened to Blazo - Colors of Jazz the other day. Super chill instrumental jazz/hip-hop. Reminds me of spending a warm rainy night indoors with the window cracked a bit.
I've been enjoying Jesse Stewart, a folkpunkish singer, ever since I stumbled on him. The guy sings with a hell of a lot of heart and he has written some damn good songs. The week I discovered METZ, a noise rock group, I went out and bought both their albums. I have no regrets. I can't get enough of them.
Wasn't super into that Jesse Stewart but he covered Fugazi so he's alright in my book. METZ rule, I would love to see them live sometime. Might like METZ - I a bit better than II.
My mom wanted the mother/son dance at my wedding to be "Mother and Child Reuinion." Then we looked it up and learned it was about a chicken/egg dish at a Chinese restaurant, and would have both been laughing too hard. You can't beat that voice though, and he still sounds good at 73.
Bibio - À tout à l'heure. This track is a few years old, but it's got a great summer vibe that'll work for any and every nice day to come.
Heard this one on the radio yesterday and liked it. Note this is the UK group "Slaves" (not the US one).
I'm generally a huge fan of prog metal, power metal, and metalcore, as well as VGM remixes. I've been feeling a bit down lately, so my musical tastes have been varying from chill when I'm decompressing to energetic and loud when I need motivation. For the former, it's been stuff like Tesseract - Resist. As for the latter, I've been a pretty big fan of OCRemix lately, so this mix has been my go-to for getting pumped up: LuIzA - Fire Cross.
If I Go by Ella Eyre . I saw her opening for Bastille in November-ish. Her voice is addicting and strong. I'd describe her singing as thick creamy soul folded into groovy-pop oatmeal. Also, the bass and drums carry each other and make me want to dance along.
