It's mainstream, but Fallout 4. That game alone makes me want to craft a PC Gaming desktop.

You should build a PC, I just built my first one a few months ago. There is a weird pride that comes from building your own PC and gaming on a PC is fantastic. Check out PCPartPicker.com to help you select parts, it makes sure that they are all compatible for you and shows you where they are cheapest. Message me if you want any help building it.

My brother swears by PCPartPicker, I'll be there soon once I get the money.

It is a great website, I'm not sure that I ever would have build my PC without it.

CzarSquid  ·  3456 days ago  ·  link  ·

Not the same user you replied to but I want to build a new PC pretty cheap that will be able to run both the new Fallout game and Dark Souls 3. If I wanted to replace my current rig with everything new (except keyboard/mouse/monitor/speakers) could I do it with a $300-400 budget? It doesn't need to run max settings but I want to give my current rig to someone else so I will need to replace most items.

sure you could do it, after a quick look on PC Part Picker, here is a build https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/kYNnTW/the-ultimate-console-killer by all means look at other build created by users on the website, or take some time and do some research to make your own build.

Awesome. All I need is a Windows OS cheap. Guess I should start saving money now.

sbohem  ·  3456 days ago  ·  link  ·

I'm not advocating this or saying that I have ever done this, but it's not difficult to get a windows OS torrent download and install it without any problems whatsoever. One has to be wary of viruses and whatnot of course. You're probably aware of this, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

CzarSquid  ·  3456 days ago  ·  link  ·

Yeah, not the best solution but definitely better than none. Since Windows 10 is coming out I bet I can nab a Windows 7 key dirt cheap until I need to upgrade.

floattank  ·  3456 days ago  ·  link  ·

You can upgrade to Windows 10 from a pirated windows 7

I would most definitely recommend building a computer. I built one a year ago, and I have never been so happy with a purchase. There is just so much freedom with a PC that consoles just can't match. Don't get me wrong though consoles are still an awesome platform.

Yeah. Fallout 4 is the only game on my list. I'm still trying to figure out if I should get a console or if I should spend money on a PC to run it.

Other than that, not much. I'm kind of tired of games. I do browse GOG.com from time to time though, to see what classics I can get a deal on and take a walk down memory lane.

I literally was just starting to save up for PC Gaming desktop because of Fallout 4. I am so excited.

Grimdark_Rainbow  ·  3456 days ago  ·  link  ·

Ohhhhh man I could go for HOURS talking to someone about Fallout 4. I'm so excited for EVERYTHING new in that game. I never know where to start and I never know where/when to end. My girlfriend and I are saving up to get a PS4 though, just because we could both play on the system.

For me the defining moment while playing Fallout 3 happened while I'm on the National Mall looking at the Washington Monument and I look at my Pipboy to see where I need to go next. As it turns out I need to go to the Museum of Technology. Well, I've been to DC. I've been to the National Mall. I've been to the Museum of Technology and I know where it is, so I went straight to it.

There's something about that experience that just made the game so much more real for me. And now, as a life long Masshole, I get to play in Boston? Fuck yeah.

Grimdark_Rainbow  ·  3456 days ago  ·  link  ·

I got so immersed in Fallout 3 it wasn't funny. I got home from school and played it until bedtime. I was crazy about it. And all I did in the game was run around and exploring/looting places. I'm replaying the game now and I'm finding so many new things in it that I wonder sometimes how much of the game I missed.

Can't wait for the Boston! And new Power Armor! And-

rooter  ·  3456 days ago  ·  link  ·

Yeah, that game looks amazing. Have you played Fallout Shelter?

ArtemisDown  ·  3452 days ago  ·  link  ·

Wish I could too. I use Android so I'm still waiting for the game to release....

besthubris  ·  3456 days ago  ·  link  ·

I wish I could play it! My phone is too old.

CzarSquid  ·  3456 days ago  ·  link  ·

Well at least the app will be there when you are ready to upgrade your phone. I'm not super worried about it though because phone games don't offer the amazing experience as a console/computer game.

I have an android and can't play it either.

Grimdark_Rainbow  ·  3456 days ago  ·  link  ·

It's supposedly coming out in August for Android.

I have an iPhone and imo, it works better than my old Android phones. Both Androids had huge glitches with them. The second one I had somehow deleted it's own freaking serial number (or whatever it was, can't remember).

Fallout Shelter, however, is a fun game imo. I play it when I'm just sitting around doing nothing.

ArtemisDown  ·  3452 days ago  ·  link  ·

Wow, It's been the exact opposite for me . I have had 3 iPhones break on me (internal things like software glitches, the charging port malfunctioning and the wifi receiver frying to name a few) and the only Android that has broken on me was from me accidentally frying the charging port when I was messing with things.

I like the freedom that Android gives you and the fact that there easier to fix (for me) if they break but to each his own.

I think when I upgrade I'm moving to an android phone. I'm reaching this newfound level of maturity where I don't need to follow the Apple hype train, and I'm excited about it.

CzarSquid  ·  3456 days ago  ·  link  ·

I never liked apple because when I was younger I could play all my games on a windows desktop. I could not wrap my head around the fact people were paying double for a computer that had half the features of windows. Now they do have more options now that multiplatforming has become big but still I rather have more than less for the money spent on it.
