I'd heard of this before, but never checked it out. Watching people grow up and grow old is too depressing for me.

I didn't find it depressing at all, I thought it was extremely fascinating. Things don't always shake out the way you think they might. However, that said it was an interesting look into how someone's birth circumstance is a great predictor of their life outcome.

Sure it does, there are a lot of things in life that bother me but that doesn't mean that watching a sociological film about them makes me depressed. Read about the film, logistically it's a miracle it exists. If you're not interested, don't watch it, but it shouldn't be because you're afraid of being depressed.
