I've had How Hard I Try - Filous on repeat for the last few days. It's almost a feel-good summer-y track, but it has a slight touch of melancholy as well.
Been listening to Wilco's new album Star Wars, which they've released for free. It's really good. Even if you're on the fence regarding Wilco, I suggest picking it up. Hell, it's free! Pretty cool
Can confirm, I picked this up today. Was listening to it while working so I couldn't really appreciate it yet, but on the whole it sounds pretty good.
No new music, well obviously some, including that new Wilco up there, but more importantly I FINALLY figured out how to put music on my stupid iphone 6, which itunes has never once recognized in hours of tinkering. Fuck all of those products, I'm using a third-party thing called Copy Trans which is weird but works. Uninstalled itunes forever.
I just began listening to Spacehog, and Space is the Place is my favorite so far:
I've been really enjoying the new singles by Carly Rae Jepsen, a lot more than I thought I would. I especially like Run Away With Me. It's such a perfectly sugary pop song. I'm also on a drum and bass kick at the moment. Rules by Boymerang is a new favourite of mine. Sleepy Sun is a psychedelic folk group I've gotten into recently. As far as I'm concerned, Marina is basically a perfect song. I love the way its different parts come together so beautifully.
I just learned about Rachel Flowers and have spent about 2 hours today listening to her stuff. I first saw her when I was googling Zappa music and she has performed with Dweezil Zappa. She is a 20 year old, incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist who has been blind since birth. Here she is performing a jazz piano piece called Malambo by Alberto Ginastera.
I know it's some dated pop, but I've been listening to 1000 forms of fear - Sia I love it ~ it has some dark/heavy themes, a pleasant diverse mix of styles (pop, electric) and has some strange/ quirky elements which I love ~
I've been listening to some doom metal lately, mostly The Howling Void (a one man funeral doom project).
I've been listening to this song a lot recently. Almost on repeat, in fact.
Luca Brasi. A punk rock group from Tasmania, Australia. Great tunes, wicked solos, and a fantastic live show.
I love the skeletones four, a holloweeny garage rock band https://theskeletonesfour1.bandcamp.com/album/dragging-the-lake-ep
I've been really into this Z-trip set lately, a lot of fun and old school hip hop
Years & Years released their album recently. Sweet dance pop album.
