Yeah, that's just crazy. I was talking with a woman that has run many marathons and she said that she's had toenails fall off, nipples bleed etc. She got pretty graphic. I can't imagine the battering an 80 mile run must put on your body and your heart. No matter how well you train or how good of shape you're in. Doing something like that routinely can't be good. Imagine if every weekend you drove your car from Michigan to North Carolina? That wouldn't be very good for the car would it?
btw, you should start doing that every other weekend ;-)

It's not fair. Apparently I was built to drink bourbon.

Literally at the head if a trail about to run, hubskiing from my phone. I'm thinking 30 minutes -not sure how far that will be but my runkeeper app will let me know.

80 mile death race? And he beat the standing record by over a 1/2 hour. -Sweet! Also, enjoyed the Tom Robbin's nod.

Woodpecker was my first Tom Robbins read, and it wasn't my last.

I read a bunch of his books too and I loved them all. It's been so long though that I hardly remember some of them. I think it's time to re-read some Tom Robbins. I recall really enjoying Jitterug Perfume.
