Wow! Those look way better than my potatoes. Thanks for sharing!
Haha you caught me! I feel lucky enough seeing it realtime. Gonna take a snapshot with my mind. Cool sharing this with all ya'll
Watching it right now. Not a blood moon for me in EST but definitely a supermoon. About half way through right now. I love this stuff. Moving pretty slow. Full eclipse expected in 20 minutes.
Overcast here. But the sky is a weird orange color. Interesting.
hehehe. Yep the last time I saw a full lunar eclipse I had to stand outside at zero degrees weather for an hour or so. Solar eclipses are easier but do not involve as much scotch.
We had roughly 500 or so people (not sure of final count) watch the bottoms of the clouds until dissipating at 2300EDT. At 2320EDT as if by magic, the sky went from 90% clouds to 20% clouds and we got to watch the last few moments of totality and then the egress from the umbra. I let at least 20-30 people take picts through the eyepiece with their phone cameras and I am happy to see some of our social media stuff pay off from that with lots of great pictures. The Iphone 5, as much as I do not like apple stuff, was the hands-down best for taking a moon image this way. The 6 seemed to fight the focus and turn everything fuzzy. And the Galaxy phones, when you got them just right they were amazing and clear, but the work to get them at that point was a struggle. I've been on the run at full steam for five straight days now, it is 0200 EDT and I have to be at work at 0700. I leave you with bluegrass metal.
just was out watching it! gorgeous sight, and I also got to look at the amazing carpet of stars we have above my house. wrong colour? dun care, ain't even mad.
Yep. Yep. Yep. Then CCR? What the hell does that have to do with anything? Oh it is the bad moon rising.. Alright then.
Hi everybody -- I loved reading this. We saw the beginning, then cloud during totality. Around midnight, though, it cleared up and we brought a blanket into a nearby park. It was warm and the blanket was large so we huddled inside like a human taco: and watched and fell asleep and dreamed. I woke up completely confused. Where was I? Oh - outside in a park, watching the lunar eclipse. I have to sleep outside under the stars again. And now it's Monday and we are barrelhousing into the week! "Mama Just wants to barrelhouse all night long" - especially if there's an eclipse.
It sounds like I got lucky. Apparently there was some pretty heavy cloud cover just a couple hours north of here, but I had a perfect view. I'm sure it also helps that I live in quite a small city, so the sky gets fairly dark at night.
