flat tax on what? Salary?

Because lots of CEOs take small salaries (look at Jobs and his $1 token salary) and big amounts in stock.

This is not to mention all the wealthy people who live off the interest / gains from their investments...

I'd like to see a tax like this on everything. 15/20% on salary, 15/20% on stocks etc. If your being paid in stocks, 15/20% can be sold @ market price and will go to the govt

Jobs wasn't the first to do this and won't be the last. It is a common trick.

I think "trick," is the wrong word. It's a common "practice" and for good reason. I would rather have my CEO's earnings tied directly to the company's health and well being. A smart CEO will make decisions that will benefit the company holistically and for the long run so that their stock/equity is worth more. Nothing wrong with that.

It's a trick insofar as it makes the CEO look better for the low price if asset redistribution, but I agree, it's a fantastic business practice.
