There are sites for diaries and sites for confessing stuff...I used to use one confession site in particular but then it got closed as the only other people using it were kids calling each-other names:) It was kind of funny though.

But for me the hardest part would be the open nature. I write in my journal for me. Me alone. While at times I realize that perhaps future generations of my family will find interest in it, I keep even that out of my mind. This helps to give me a liberating space that no one else can penetrate. This is a necessary thing for most humans to have and we get far too little of it now. But yes, it is more of an "artists notebook" and that doesn't translate well to an online setting. To each his own though and as I mentioned I will look forward to reading your work.
