I didn't know that the Aussie was in on it, too. That's interesting, and it changes my perspective on the event. I've always thought how awkward it must have been for him, but its really cool to know that he supported them, himself coming from a country with a lot of racial tension.

- Both U.S. athletes intended on bringing black gloves to the event, but Carlos forgot his, leaving them in the Olympic Village. It was the Australian, Peter Norman, who suggested Carlos wear Smith's left-handed glove, this being the reason behind him raising his left hand, as opposed to his right, differing from the traditional Black Power salute
-I'd say the Aussie could think on his feet. The raised fist without the black glove just isnt the same.
