This is probably good for another post but why is it that US pressings of albums in the 60s and 70s are totally inferior to that of Japanese and UK? American records use shitty recycled vinyl and come in splintery paper riddled with advertisements. UK and Japanese, German too, use virgin vinyl and protect them in plastic lined sleeves. No advertisements, no ploys to get you to buy another, they just want you to enjoy the record. Something to think about.
That's crazy about the women folding the corners so that the album would fall out. Not cool capital, not cool at all. What else you been listening to/collecting these days? Anything new or mostly older rock? You were on a jazz kick for bit, weren't you? You should check out this comment by Owl. I am still at the beginning of their suggested listening. I've been on a Erik Satie kick and it's wonderful music. You'll definitely appreciate it. Just listen to his first link there. Trust me. You ever consider collecting classical? I'm going to start.
I need more Bowie in my collection. What about the Parlaphone Beatles releases vs. American releases? Do you know much about that?
