Also, take not of the last shot of Frodo at the table. You can see that shadow of the teapot make a straight shadow on the table because the table is actually two pieces.
I actually had no idea that they were using this trick. I always assumed it was done with some sort of merging in editing.
There was one scene in the beginning of LoTR where Frodo jumps into Gandalf's cart that looked weird. I'd love to see how they set up that shot.

I remember seeing this from the DVD. My brother owns all three movie box sets, each with four DVDs in it. Anyone into those films on Hubski should pause their life for a day, err, a weekend, and watch all of the incredible behind the scenes footage. The making of the film was documented impressively. They take you around to all the trades involved to show their meticulous evolutions. Highly recommended!

I have seen some of these and they are impressively detailed and yet not at all boring. Maybe this is because I'm a big fan of the books/movies. I found them to be really interesting not just in regards to the stories but more in regards to making a film. -especially ones that are so damned awesome in scope. Cool stuff. I can't imagine being the person in charge of all of that.
