I've never understood how a christian person wouldn't understand this. It's all over the scriptures as far back as Genesis: "And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth." I think people sometimes think "multiply and replenish" just means have babies - but that's just the multiply part. Replenish means to put back or restore to the former level or condition. This dude is right on the money. The scriptures are clear, and we're jacking up our stewardship of this planet.
There's another dimension, too, which is that if we're loving our neighbors, we probably shouldn't be drowning them in rising seas or choking them with mercury-laden air pollution. Harming the environment harms people, so even if one doesn't care about nature for nature's sake, they still should try to limit their environmental impact.
100% agree. and there's ALL KINDS of other "christian" reasons to be good to the earth. In the end - christian or not, religious or not - we all better wake up and smell the ozone. There are sensible ways for us to be better stewards. I don't think taking sides on the issue is join to solve much. Climate change denial does as much damage as selling carbon offset credits. disclaimer: I'm not accusing anyone here of taking sides.
