I'm looking forward to watching my daughter learn to walk and talk! Also, finishing my Physics degree and hopefully my first publication in an astronomical journal.
On a lighter note, I'm looking forward to seeing World War Z and Ender's Game on the big screen, playing Bioshock Infinite, and hoping the rumors are true and Tool puts out a new album.
I have a 14mo daughter who is developing quite the vocabulary as well. She can say mom, dad, kitty, doggy, baby, trash, yes, no, and thank you. It's amazing to hear her figure out how to say each new word, and to hear the word become clearer as she practices it. I think the first time I hear her say "Daddy, I love you" will be the happiest day of my life.
Starting a batch of mead using honey from my backyard hive.
Thanks. I love it too but have been slack, and not made any in many years. However, I am still very proud of the 3 first-place Mazer Cups that I won back in the 1990's. My best effort ever was a dry prickly-pear mead, it was pure ambrosia. The key is age - at least one year in the bottle.
Bees are one of nature's greatest creations! I hope you post more about your bees and your mead adventures, would love to read about it.
Thanks! I will be opening up the hive, tomorrow probably, for a check-up, and to add a new hive box for them - summer's coming on (down under, in NZ) and the honey production should be ramping up. They are certainly very busy! I'll try to get the S.O. to take some photos for me.
I am so looking forward to the fall of Bashar Hafez al-Assad, but I'm not confident it will bring the peace and freedom the Syrians want. Two years ago at this time I was looking forward for the fall of Mubarak. It isn't turning out too brilliantly for the people of Egypt yet (especially the women), but I hope someday.
I'm looking forward to meeting new people, continuing my relationships with my current friends, learning new things, and having adventures. For the past year, whenever someone has asked me "what's new?" I gave the answer "nothing". Over and over again. 2012 was a year of stagnation for me. 2013 holds the promise of change and adventure, and I'm looking forward to broadening my horizons and becoming a better person.
That's definitely one of the things for me. I used to be one of those "STEM major masterrace" people and I'd excluded myself from a lot of friends. I'm looking forward to getting back in touch with them, reading books, getting fit, and generally improving my life.
I don't know, I just want to experience some things out of the blue and learn about myself along the way.
- I got a year-end deal on Altiverb XL and Speakerphone and I've got three movies lined up to try them out on. - Once I finish the novel I've got a script in development that we might just shoot. - Soon as I get a moment, Francesca is getting new plugs, new coil sticks, a new Z25 gear, her throttle restrictors and catalytic converter pulled, her exhaust flap wired open and her ECU remapped which should be good for 140HP. At which point she will definitely need new tires. - I might be able to sell my H3000D/SE for triple what I paid for it in 1998, which would be dope, after sampling it in Altiverb, which would be doper. - They're fixing the path down on the beach which will make certain aerobic pursuits less peril-fraught. - my java moss is pearling, my neocardina are fucking, my orchids are budding and the algae in the aquaponic system is finally on the wane. - people will finally stop saying "oh having a kid changes everything YOU'LL SEE YOU'LL SEE YOU'LL SEE HERP DERP
I'm looking forward to completing my second semester of college (at the age of 47) this Spring, and then my third over the summer and my forth in the fall. I'm looking forward to completing some writing projects and sharing them with the world. I'm looking forward to teaching my youngest, 15, to drive this summer. Last one in the nest! I'm looking forward to performing with my musical partner this Spring, sharing our cross-time music across New Mexico.
Looking forward to working after some years spent at the university
Just came across this article and thought I'd add Finding an Alien Earth to the list.
