I see 'houses' from time to time that are so badly put together and detailed with mismatching and poorly fitting soffits or fascia or windows that you just wonder if nobody really gives a shit, and it's nice to see such a figurehead be anal about things. I got a kick out of that thing about the carpenter using good wood for the back, it's a nice idea really, no matter how annoying or inefficient it may be in reality.
I think the main example is printers. My friend needed to print something last minute late at night and just went to the 24h supermarket to get a new printer because it was cheaper than buying cartridges for the one he already had. Madness.
I'm looking for a new PC because my Lenovo died. I went to Best Buy the other day to browse, and everything they have looked like shit, -crappy plastic shit. My ThinkPad was boxy and the screen was even off center, but it was solid and purposeful looking. Look at this bad boy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Macintosh_128k_transparenc... That is class.
Also, the way he became upset over the ugly oxygen monitor while in the hospital is absolutely insane.
