- Smoking is expensive, and not just for the person buying the cigs. Employers are taking hard looks at the cost of employing smokers as they try to cut health insurance costs, with some refusing to hire people who say they smoke.
Let me vape my ecig in my cubicle and we'll be all good, Boss.
Are they any more or less carcinogenic than normal smokes? Not asking in regard to this article, I just want to know.
Like bfv said, they haven't been around long enough for any long term studies that could compare to the studies done on cigarettes. But the early studies are saying "Still not great for you, but far less chemicals and carcinogens than regular cigarettes". There's also studies that some people get pneumonia from them, as it's basically aiding in collecting vapor/liquid into your lungs. But at the end of the day, there's only a handful of chemicals in ecig juice, compared to the hundreds/thousands in traditional cigarettes. Most ecig juices are just a combination of PG (Pure Grain alcohol), and VG (Vegetable Glycerine), and then any flavor extracts and nicotine which is entirely per distributor. But bottom line, inhaling anything into your lungs isn't good for you, ecigs are just "less" worse. But again, this is only based on the studies that have been conducted so far, and they don't know how less worse they are. But the fact that there is no tar or ash alone is a huge advantage, it's just vapor.
