Hey, First of all, welcome to Hubski daryl. I say "welcome", even though it appears you joined over 400 days ago. Glad you've returned. When in your 'feed' you will find posts from people or tags that you "follow". Right now it appears you are only following the "hubski" account and therefore your feed is probably pretty strange looking. My advice would be to check out the global posts which you can find to the left of the "submit a post" button. Find a post that interests you and follow the person that posted it. Or, click on the "tags" link and follow some tags that interest you. Immediately, your feed will change. Also, when in your feed you will see a link to "tutorial" on the bottom of the page. Click it and take a quick tour of the basics on the site. For some of the most appreciated Hubski content, check out the "badges" link. If you have any questions that aren't answered by the FAQ or About pages, feel free to PM me. Enjoy the site! Oh, as for the "what makes the site special?" the answer is the people that use it. Check out the "community" page to link to some regular users of the site.
TNG's right; it's all about the people. I haven't been here for a while so the content might've changed lately (which I doubt), but one key difference between here and Reddit is a lack of appreciation of memes and the like, and lame pun threads.
Good to see you AnSionnachRua. Hope things are going well for you and yours. I began working on my mixed CD tonight and it is proving more difficult than I anticipated. Too many choices of artists/songs, not to mention overall themes for the mix. Good times.
