I always knew they were just mostly dead.

I've always been interested in covers that fundamentally change the meaning of the original song with a new style or instrumentation.

Such as:

Maxence Cyrin - Where Is My Mind

Dynamite Hack - Boyz In Tha Hood

Ben Folds - Bitches Ain't Shit

I also think it's interesting when a cover song reaches a level of popularity rivaling the original song, like:

Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower

Jeff Buckley - Halleleujah

or Joan Jett - I Love Rock and Roll

The YouTube comments on this video are pretty awful in my opinion. A lot of them either don't know that AV Club is The Onion's sister publication, don't like that it's showing up on the same channel as the satirical Onion videos, or seriously hate this cover. It's not perfect, but is it really deserving of that level of vitriol? Maybe they're just bothered that music is showing up in their subscription box.

Should be working now, must have been the coded YouTube URL

Great read. Inspired me to re-watch the 1995 Canadian TV movie based (loosely) on the original story.

To me it hampers readability for me to have them all connected, at least in the current layout. Here's how it looks with h and d split to the letters' natural depths, for comparison.

Still feels a little crowded though, might need to be spaced out a little more. Then again, I'm no graphic designer.

Here, I made it modernist for you.

Yeah, because that makes sense. Circlebroke loves nothing more than the defaults, and their mods.
