The new logo for The Advanced Apes is ready!
It took a lot of hard work for a close friend and collaborator. What do you think Hubski?!
EDIT
What do you think of the second image?!
It's pretty awesome. It's pretty much what I imagined in my minds eye when I read your name.
Since you asked: I like the position of the words, but I'm not sure about the h-d-p connection. The shared A should be ok even if you lower the p slightly. I'm glad you dropped the blog network, podcast, and channel. Not everyone would have a clear idea of what a blog network is and podcast and channel could conceivably be the same thing. So the skeletons might have had copyright issues?
Well the channel/podcast distinction might be confusing now... but they won't be soon enough :)
Did you ever consider the idea of having a laptop, and having the ape looking at it with curiosity, with an outstretched arm and index finger, about to touch it for the first time? That said, I think this is a great logo. I did like the old logo and think you could riff on that too. All in all, I like it though. Great work.
I have to agree. Lish (the animator) is still tinkering. Should be up officially soon!
Hm. When I eventually put it up with the fb/twitter page I think it should work as a logo. But I'll let my illustrator know and see what she thinks.
I like the first image better, the text looks very crowded in the second. If you want it more compact, I'd move it to the top left corner of the image instead. Also, the ape looks a bit uncomfortable to be honest, if I tried to hold his position, I'd fall over on my back, so I'm not sure how he doesn't ;)
Thanks lil! I like the skeletons too, but it is eventually going to be replaced with an official banner (which should be out soon!). That picture of the skeletons isn't my image.
I saw a guy wearing a t-shirt with those skeletons on it. I said, "hey it's the advanced apes" and was about to go talk to him when I realized that it wasn't you. You're in Toronto and I'm not. I see now that you do not own the image. It was a great looking t-shirt though.
