Arcade Fire - Reflektor. New one from AF. The Bowie cameo makes it great.

Vampire Weekend - Step. I still need to pick up the entire new album but I really like this one.

Ryan Hemsworth - Perfectly. Pop song of the week.

I got to see Vampire Weekend last night at FreeFest. They really know how to entertain a crowd.

Nice. I saw them a couple months ago here in the Twin Cities. Was a pretty good show.

Great band. They're building a nice body of work and are still really young. It's a band I'll continue to follow. Modern Vampires is one of my favorite albums this year, for sure. How are they live?

They were really good live. They had a great stage presence. They were friendly and had conversations with the audience in between sets. I would highly recomend seeing them if you get the chance.

That's good to hear, it's always a shame when you really enjoy a band only to find out they're horrible live. I saw the Smashing Pumpkins a couple of times in the 90's and they were pretty bad live. Bummer.

I had a big Disturbed phase back in high school. They were terrible live. It kinda put me off from the whole experience.

For context, it's my fiancee's favorite band and she's in love with the lead singer. I, enjoy their music, but am not a huge fan. I thought the show was just okay. They had great sound, played super tight, were playful, and nailed the set list. But they didn't talk a lot, and played the set list just straight up like they do it every night. Again, great sound, great show, but nothing special.

It also could have been because it was in a seated theater venue, like a big classic theater here in town. So, there wasn't really a "floor", and it was just kind of people standing in their rows, which kind of killed it for both of us. We see a lot of concerts and always get floor, because it's just what we enjoy. This show didn't really have a floor and they have some pretty fun dancy music. Just really wasn't a good venue for them. Probably not their fault.

My fiancee felt the same way about everything, and it's her favorite band. Fun show, think it was just a shitty venue and lack of energy as a result.
