This album came out earlier this year, but I still can't get enough of this song Cayucas - A Summer Thing
I've been listening to that album like crazy ever since kleinbl00 introduced it to us all in one of these weeklymusicthreads. It's a solid album and a ton of fun. I used it to underscore kb's part in our recently released podcast on writing. Along with this album, I can't stop listening to Foxygen
Yeah, but Cubanate is really similar to Cayucas...
Death Cab For Cutie released demos of everything on Transatlanticism, there's some pretty cool stuff - here's The New Year.
Comfy which is a great lo-fi band (literally recorded in a bedroom). The recorded songs are pretty short and not nearly as intense as they are live. These guys (one guitarist/singer and a drummer) go nuts live. This one I couldn't outside of Spotify, but The Burning of the Temple, 2012 by Cass McCombs is a great song. There is something sleazy about this song that I haven't been able to place. This is off of his latest release, Big Wheel and Others.
Anna von Hausswolff - Ocean. I've been listening to a few new things, but honestly, none of it seems important compared to her.
#musicswap has made me realise how much I enjoy making playlists. After I submitted my playlist to delta I made another playlist of songs from my favourite albums produced/engineered by Steve Albini. This is what I am listening to right now.
Okay whoop let's take a trip: From Berlin (although to be fair I missed the bus with this one) Moderat's newest album is as good as the previous one. Very similar I guess but still nice. Moving to Canada, some sultry R&B from Jessy Lanza. Super catchy synthpop something from Silly Kissers. Guilty pleasure type stuff. Also Chevalier Avant Garde. Dark-ish kind of synthpop. Stylistically a little bit further south, Laurel Halo's new album is great if you like ambient techno (Deepchord?) Finally, cool band from ATX, π, playing bluesy-psych rock. Nothing groundbreaking here, but I enjoy it. P.S. like flagamuffin said, Tim Hecker. Floaty soundscapes.
The new State Faults record slays. FFO: Screamo
let's do this, dudes. 1. bon iver - for emma, forever ago; so insanely perfect and fitting to the shivery weather outside. accompanied with a tea, sweater, and fluffy comforter, it is buh-liss. 2. kanye west - hold my liquor & on sight. funnily enough, can't get these two out of my head. YEEZY SEASON APPROACHING and it's distilled to those, only. i'm faced with the curse of the "same old same old". it's becoming tiring, but unfortunately i lack the patience/presence to come upon enjoyable new music. TRYING. endeavoring.
Pitbull - Timber ft. Ke$ha Not even kidding. Ke$ha is the shit.
