I've never been someone that "works out". I just get too bored with it. I do enjoy sports and recreational activities. 2 years ago I decided to do P90x. I did it for 60 days (not 90) and I was in the best shape of my life. I have never felt or looked better, it was absolutely amazing. Every aspect of my life was enhanced by it but the problem was that it required an hour and a half of intense workout every day. That's a lot.
What I intend on doing in 2012 is to improve my diet and exercise more via recreation (bike riding, sports etc). I think the key to health is moderation. Obsessively working out isn't healthy either. Good luck to all that are trying to improve their health, it's a noble endeavor.

Obsessively working out isn't good, but regularly working out is. To be ripped takes a huge commitment, but just being is pretty good shape isn't that hard. 3-4 times per week of working out with weights is important. I think not enough people understand that building some muscle is really good for you, because I increases the amount of sugar you can store in your muscles. Thus, you don't automatically convert excess carbs to fat. In my experience, women especially don't get this. They think they just need to get on the treadmill for 45 min every day, and then they are dejected when they don't see the results they think they should. Biking sports, etc, are awesome, and are really good for you, but weights are equally important for overall health and fitness.

Weights are definitely important. I'm not a huge fan of lifting weights (but when I have, it has made a tremendous difference). I prefer push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, chair dips etc. But there are still some exercises that are better with free weights.
Day 2, no meat. I'm shaky but maybe that's the lack of alcohol?
