saldejums you might like to hear this: http://www.cbc.ca/ideas/episodes/2013/04/08/sailing-alone-around-the-world/ press 'listen'. Apparently, when one is alone sailing in the pacific ocean (the largest ocean in the world), the closest human to you by distance is the person in the international space station. Pretty amazing thought.
elizabeth, I think you would enjoy this read. Also, sounds_sound. I think both of you seem like the types that could pull something like this off. Maybe I'm wrong, but you both seem like great travelers/adventurers. There are some good comments on this site too that are worth reading. Edit: Anyone read his blog/book? I want to know if he ended up meeting the president?
Thanks for that, it's pretty interesting. That's some crazy adventures. Waaay crazier than anything I've ever done or plan on doing. 10 years? Wow that's a bit too much. Definitely agree on the don't blog on your first trip. I tried and failed miserably because when you have very limited time somewhere, you don't want to spend it blogging. Good think I realized that fast and stopped. Now that i'm back I'll be writing everything down progressively on my tumblr. Mainly for myself but I'm also planning to study in marketing so i'll try to see how hard it is to actually make it popular just for kicks.
