What task do you perform while listening to music, and what is your jam to get it done?
I've been working on my laptop this weekend, and have listened to Brian Eno's Discreet Music more than anything else. It's soothing and absolutely gets out of the way if you're concentrating.
What about you Hubski? No genres...give me an album!'
I've been promoted! Thanks lil! I really enjoy writing to 5, Eve Egoyan's recording of piano music by Ann Southam. Here's a link to Untitled in G. And here's more information on the album from Ms. Egoyan's website.
When I was at University I worked the prep shift in a kitchen to pay my bills. We got into a routine of putting this album on after we'd had startup coffee. Made the whole day run smoothly.
Wow... you have just given me an amazing gift!! Morning Dance was a really key album for me during my early teen years, and I had totally forgotten about it! But when I heard that first bit of the steel drum, it unlocked memories I haven't thought of for DECADES. Amazing... and Thank You!!
That's a good one actually. This album is interesting in that I could listen to it while focusing on a quiet task just as easily as I could dance to it in a club. I can't think of any other dance music that really fits that bill...a strange sort of mental hybrid for me.
when I really need to get them veggies chopped at work. specifically track two.
John Cage's 4'33 or anything that sounds similar.
I really like listening to this song while filling out tediously complex insurance forms.
