my childhood bedroom ceiling has been glowing constellations for over a decade now. it isn't exactly the latest technology. but i realize that implementing this on such a large scale requires a lot of investment and r&d. just seems like such a gimme you know. who wouldn't be onboard with this? i'm wondering if there could be an unspoken aversion to this elsewhere because of its perceived safety. there's already a bit of talk on this thread about teenagers doing dumb stuff. i know if we had glow in the dark lines on the road when i was growing up, i would've driven with my headlights off WAY MORE.as desire catches up with our abilities
I think the aversion is mostly politically driven. If you have large government contract with suppliers that don't have this capability, then it will take time to shift. Old relationships, old money, the old-boys club... powerful stuff.
