Got married! Travelled across Spain! So many good vibes that I still have a hard time comprehending it all. As a surprise gift, we got an envelope with a date from each of the guests. Inside the envelope, to be opened on that date sometime in this first year, is a fun task to undertake for us. It is such a thoughtful gift and such a great way to celebrate our marriage, like when we “had to” dine with sushi and wine this week because it’s a go-to combo from a good friend. Good luck all yall with the dumpster fire (/ballot box fire??!) that is next weeks election. Feels like the whole world is watching.
Congratulations Veen! Cheers to many happy and healthy years for you both. Pro tip- take up tennis together. I love Spain so much. I could live in Sevilla. I know BLOB_CASTLE is/was there. An amazing country. Don’t stress re the election. It will all be over soon. Both options suck. Nothing will change. But I will focus on the things I can control. Can’t stress the tennis thing enough. So good for a couple. Onward!
Bought an apartment, I am moving in a month! Living the startup life, hopefully to break into Product Management soon as the first real career I'm actually interested in pursuing. Had a commitment to the promotion in a month as well - it's gonna be a wild December! My whole life fell appart 2 years ago - I spent one year soul searching and recovering and another one working hard towards my goals. Would really like to find love and be more active, but with the 2 above items I've been to overwhelmed to give it the energy it deserves. It's the next thing :) Feeling optimistic, things have been going well even if it's been stressful and hectic.
Awesome update. Congrats on taking your life into your own hands. The love will come. Best of luck with the startup’! It is not for the faint of heart but it can be very rewarding. Onward!
Election will be over in a week. What a ride it's been. Supreme Court just pulled some shit purging 1200 or so voters in Virginia. Ballot boxes being burned. It's going to be a hell of a few weeks in this country. A colleague from a different county is in salary negotiations for a new role. Disappointed she'll be leaving but she'll be significantly happier once she's out of the role so I'm happy for her. It's fun, because the state has a new email list for each thing they send out so we constantly send each other things to make sure we're actually getting all the info, so that'll be a missed resource. Beyond that, still applying to jobs. My partner found funding for a PhD so she's going to be applying and will almost certainly get in which will be super exciting and a wonderful journey, though the loss of income will be less fun. Hope y'all are staying sane this week!
tonsillectomy yesterday after a night in the ER -finally
So many great milestones, and I only have a tiny one: today I used self-checkout at a store for the first time, because it was also the first time since pre-pandemic Devac-has-no-money times when I went to the store for less than a month's worth of supplies. Between this and not wanting to throw my smartphone at a wall just about every time I hold it, it's almost like I'm finally living in the '10s, yo! :P Also, I signed up to get a forklift permit, because 1) they look fun to use, 2) why the hell not? The course is almost insultingly cheap for 20 hrs theory and 10 hrs driving under supervision, so my next couple of weekends are gonna be dope.
See, that's murky. For a properly defined Hamiltonian, you ought to have potential energy defined as independent of velocity, yet forklift theory allows 'lifting' (a Lie group acting a bit like a ladder operator) whilst moving and even accelerating[0] (left as an exercise to the reader). It's clearly an open system without total energy(t) constraint, though a more realistic model removes infinities by adding finite parameters, like LPG pressure or electric charge. [0] - EDIT/addendum: It has to be stated that an OSHA-compliant operator can only apply lift/lower operator while velocity is zero. Toy-model (think phi-4 field) is a lot more permissible.
I made that comment to see what you would do with it, and you NEVER disappoint, my friend. Never. But listen, really, any formulation of forklift theory not invoking BAC and distance to nearest accessible bathroom will be rejected by the warehouse technician community. That's the type of stuff you scienceforkers are so ignorant about. Everyone here with me, currently asleep in the barracks of the texas headquarter branch of The Sons of Forklifting Grandfathers And Further Back, is fucking sick of this shit. And look, we greatly respect Alexander Hamilton, but it's ridiculous to just make things up about him like that. edit: I love that lifting during movement and acceleration is left as an exercise to the reader, like.. a job
There's an empirically-confirmed, cargo-independent statistical coincidence of bathrooms and charging stations limiting the forklift's half-life. Both forklift operator and forklift operator operator are confined by the cargo potential anyway, so it's implicitly included in the calculation.any formulation of forklift theory not invoking BAC and distance to nearest accessible bathroom will be rejected by the warehouse technician community.
You know I'll bet you are an operator operator, actually. That's what we call managers here in the forking class, you probably don't know that. I'll bet even your dad didn't drive forklifts. I'm out of here
you can't breed a bozo with a moron and then expect the kid to succeed, I don't care how little the thing weighs. Again, just so out of touch
Ah, that's true. That's all true. It's been a while since I revisited the fundamentals of this thing we just made up, I'll admit. top of the strange to you, charmed I'm sure edit; american quarks are like "what's up? wanna throw down? ..bottom quark, huh?"flavour
