sounds_sound has some design chops, and thenewgreen was able to convince him to do a treatment of Hubski the other day.
He gave us a bunch of good stuff to work on and to work with, however his suggestion for a new badge was such an improvement I had to implement it straight away.
To be fair, khaaan among others had previously pointed out that our previous badge was too similar to the hubwheel. (khaaan also just shared this interesting idea.)
At any rate, I wanted to give credit where credit was due. It's likely that some of the other ideas that sounds_sound gave us will be working their way onto the site too.
Thanks sounds_sound, and thanks to everyone else that has been sending their creative energy our way.
Thanks for the shout out mk. thenewgreen's timing was perfect cause I was itching for a charette of some kind. Sometimes 6 hours at my local coffee shop with headphones on and my adobe suite powered up is just what the doctor ordered. It's fun busting out my hubski illustrator file. There are sooooo many different hubwheel iterations rolling around in that thing.
...and that's the default. Sweet! :) I think it looks fine on dark too. steve you ever give "clean" a try? I prefer it to dark these days though I'll likely go back to dark.
once you go dark, you never go back. I will admit that this is me straining at a gnat. The shape, color, and design of any element here is not enough to drive me away. I just thought I'd voice my opinion. ok... I've given it more thought. I didn't mind that the badge was the same shape as the hubwheel. It made sense to me that making it around the hubwheel earned a badge... in the shape of the hubwheel. Is there a reason it's a different color orange/yellow than the hubwheel?
Oh, then I'm totally going back to dark. I can't be in the "default setting".
Unless you're on an iPad, that won't do anything. Try using your cursor.
Confirmed; you can put your finger on it while using an iPad. Results: "No badges earned yet."
That's disappointing. Side-note, there is not an iPad cursor.
