What could cause the 104% jump in transactions between two days? Health of the network? Grexit?
And really, all of this is compounded with the current ownership structure at Slashdot. Dice has been destroying a lot of good faith with their moves at SourceForge, and ThinkGeek's sale to Gamestop. Slashdot is pretty much living on borrowed time.
I have practically NO defaults and a 1/3rd of my subs are on private. This is not some individual actors being pratty children, this is a fucking protest.
I knew that eventually, someone in reddit leadership would drop the ball. IAMA is a huge money maker for Reddit and every minute it's down, the more Reddit loses money. This is further compounded with the news that much of the site is shutting down. So the community is not happy. This could be it. In the days ahead we're going to hear a lot about Victoria's departure from a lot of sources. I will remind everyone to take the facts as they come with a grain of salt. I would be bold in saying this but I imagine Sam is meeting with the other investors about options at some C-level staff. To the Hubski staff: Where can we make donations again?
The game looks amazing visually and technically, but I continue to remain disappointed by the lack of pvp.
Memories of seeing the boundaries of Zone Rouge come to mind viewing this. Haunting stuff.
You are not alone. A lot of the less pleasant communities on Reddit (FPH being one of them) needed to go. I've seen the reaction seems to cut entirely one way with people who seem rather interested in the status quo: LOL PAOTRIARCHY FUG REDDIT 8DDDD. And its not just confined to the default subs. The well is pretty much poisoned, the lands salted, and we're in for some serious Lord of the Flies shit until the site goes dark. Nothing of value was lost uninstalling sync, and adding it to my blocklist. Once you hit massive scale, there's not really a single design philosophy that maintains a consistently quality community. It always falls into the throes of control and despair. It will come to everything, including Hubski. But hell, i'm going to enjoy myself while I can. I think that's the last thing I need to say on the topic of Reddit for the foreseeable future. Also, one more thing: It doesn't matter what Reddit says it is or isn't. They are here to make money. There's always somewhere else.whilst I strongly agree with the importance of freedom of speech and reddit being a sacred avenue for it
I hope for the sake and sanctity of all that's good in the world Voat takes as much of Reddit's nastier users so they don't pollute the rest of the internet and every other site aiming to take away reddit's traffic. The containment site would do us all a lot of good.
Thanks for the warm welcome mk, and everyone else here. Definitely ready to close the book on all the problems Reddit became as it grew too large and unwieldy. Are there any good clubs/communities dedicating to gaming?
