Time for another voting thread!
This time we're going to be voting on movies you've been meaning to watch.
Something that's been sitting in your queue awhile that you haven't found the time for or maybe you haven't been in the right mood for.
Let's see what you got!
b_b, humanodon, ButterflyEffect, OftenBen, roysexton, iammyownrushmore, blackbootz,_refugee_, mk, eightbitsamurai, Ave, camarillobrillo, havires, kleinbl00, ecib, insomniasexx, elizabeth, nowaypablo, pigeon, rjw, StJohn, Mindwolf, Meriadoc, beezneez, longstocking, theadvancedapes, ghostoffuffle, T-Dog, jonaswildman, coffeesp00ns, bfv, cgod, mike, thenewgreen, zebra2, Kaius, lelibertaire, Zurangatang, InkBubble
Irreversible has been on my list for awhile. Definitely a more explicit film which may not be everyone's first choice. My other would be Dallas Buyers Club. Still haven't seen it and it's been recommended enough to where I need to watch it.
So down for Dallas Buyers Club, its been on my "goto" list for so long, and I still haven't gotten around to watching it!
If it isn't too late to keep voting, I'll pitch in my vote for Andrei Rublev as well. I have been meaning to watch Tarkovsky but have never gotten around to it.
Highly recommend it. He's an amazing director, but you kinda gotta like his style. Funny thing is, though it's a 3+ hour sweeping epic, I find Andrei Rublev to be a bit more accessible than his other work. I suggest we stage a coup for the next round of voting. Its the Russian thing to do, anyway.
I have a huge back catalog so hopefully you all can give me a reason to watch one of these: Vertigo Andrei Rublev Once Upon a Time in the West Raging Bull Ratatouille Brokeback Mountain Life is Beautiful The Piano Teacher Hero Moonrise Kingdom Once The Hunt Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Cinema Paradiso And Dallas Buyers Club as well cause I've been sitting on that one for forever.
Ive been trying to get everyone to watch tarkovsky since the club began, and Andrei Rublev would be perfect! Also, Dallas Buyers Club is awful, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on it. Edit: woah why did my comment have so many duplicates
Raging Bull is amazing. Regardless of the club, I highly recommend that you take the time to check it out. Are you a Scorsese fan?
Oh, I will eventually. I just haven't been in the mood for it. Same with Vertigo. I'll probably have watched both by the end of the year. I like Scorsese, but I don't love him. I think he's a great director, mind. I have heavily enjoyed Goodfellas, The Aviator, The Wolf of Wall Street, Casino, The Departed, Taxi Driver, Shutter Island, and even Gangs of New York. I probably like Taxi Driver best. But his films don't really resonate with me as much as others have if you know what I mean. Still, I'll keep it in mind and maybe watch it soon since you recommend it and I know it's considered one of the best films ever.
Taxi Driver is my favorite of his also! If you do check out Raging Bull, lemme know what you thought.
Cinema Paradiso gets my vote. I'd watch that again.
Something that has been on my list for a while has been Watchmen, but I think it's a movie most people have seen
Many of us have actually read it too. Check out the film, for sure. It was great.
I'm trying to make time for Adventureland and Castaway on the Moon
Saw the pilot for High Castle but my prime died out before I could finish it :(
The Man in the High Castle was part of Amazon's Pilot Season or whatever they call it and is going to be an ongoing series. Both times I tried to watch it I was too drunk to appreciate it because that's how I roll too often but it got great buzz and I want to watch the series while sober
