(Wish me luck) https://www.getmotivated.com/Default.aspx
1. "today you will be inspired by the most successful people in the world". 2. "now stand up and introduce yourself to the person next to you, chances are they are amongst the most successful people in your community". The guy next to me: "Hi I'm Larry, I do my moms taxes". 3. "My personal seminar on money management is only $1200 but today I'll let you sign up for only 99$. That's right, for $99 you'll receive the first month access to our money management website free". -the following months are only $34. -thus guy made me feel dirty. 4. Rudy Guliani, "you need to learn how to use a computer, if you don't have one, get one they are going to be important". 5. Lou Holtz - this guy was great. I can see why he was a successful coach. 6. Steve Forbes used his stump to preach his flat tax gospel -which btw I'm not opposed to. He began by saying, "nepotism is fine so long as you keep it in the family" -that's about as entertaining and witty as Forbes gets. 7. I was then given the option to leave after lunch. I did.
I left with one great motivational tip that I think rung true. Lou Holtz said, "the best thing a man can do for his children is love their mom". -simple stuff but very true. Other than that, garbage. I did miss out on two of the people I actually looked forward to seeing, Bill Cosby and Colin Powell. -ah well.
