Hubski,
You are all amazing, interesting, thoughtful people. Okay, so maybe some of you aren't that amazing (I put myself in this category) but even we mundane humans have extraordinary days. That's what #adayinthelife is all about.
This post is a request. I am requesting that you record yourself telling the tale of an interesting day that you have had. It could be the day you graduated, the day you first kissed that boy/girl, the day you were arrested, the day your mom died, the day your child was born, the day you found an old rusted tin horse in a river. Doesn't matter what happened, what matters is that you tell us about it.
No need to get fancy. Just record yourself, upload it to soundcloud and share it here with the tag #adayinthelife.
Who is in?

EDIT: I SHOULD MENTION THAT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A NEW MECHANISM BY WHICH TO SHARE ALL OF THIS HUBSKI, COMMUNITY CENTRIC ORIGINAL CONTENT LIKE THE #tngpodcast's, the #meethubski's and now the #adayinthelife's. SO, PLEASE DO PARTICIPATE!!! MORE TO COME!
Shout-outs didn't work on this post and this is an important post to me. So, here is a giant, epic shout-out comment. Please check out the post above: cW, AnSionnachRua, oyster, bfv bhrgunatha, mk, b_b, lil, ButterflyEffect, T-Dog, coffeesp00ns, StJohn, kleinbl00, jonaswildman, ecib, cgod, ghostoffuffle, nowaypablo, elizabeth, wasoxygen, blackbootz, yellowoftops, forwardslash, flagamuffin, galen insomniasexx, veen, theadvancedapes, humanodon, mike, demure, OftenBen, rob05c, tacocat, sounds_sound, Complexity, Meriadoc, arguewithatree, bfv, rd95, noeatnosleep, steve, thenewgreen, WanderingEng, goobster
Promise is a pie crust. I look forward to hearing it! Great idea to do it together. Cheers!
This seems like an awesome idea. If I can make a recommendation though, it might be to consider moving away from Soundcloud in the future. Not sure what options are available, but I'm sure there are some!
Soundcloud has been increasingly sucking, but I'll be honest: I still use it for my poetry recordings because it's the most popular/familiar option, and I need familiarity and ease if I expect to get any listeners at all. :-/ They started sucking a LOT for me when they removed the "record/upload" option from the app. That was a real telling change
I'm open to anything that can easily embed on Hubski and is easy to upload to and use. That said, I read the article you linked and don't see why it's a problem.
I try not to support Sony because I don't think they have artists best interests in mind, it's mostly a personal matter.
The adoption of Sony's catalog was the downfall of eMusic. They were the #2 music store on the Internet until they struck a deal with Sony, at which point they became more expensive, dumped half their indie catalog and updated their software to suck. They are now an also-ran that nobody remembers.
Got it. I'm sure we are all happy to use another option if it exists, is easy to integrate and is free. Right now we have a pretty substantial laundry list of updates, projects etc for the site though. But if you know of options, let me know.
There is no deadline. Post any time. Just be sure to use the #adayinthelife tag. I look forward to hearing yours. I posted my first one. I imagine I will post more in the future. Others can feel free to post more too.
Just a reminder to recap a day in the life of elizabeth :)
Is it selfish that I want to hear a day in the life of someone who's life isn't together. fwiw -- Most people would consider themselves in this category. I know I would. Good luck!
I've got to sit down and actually do it, possibly this weekend. I figured out what I'll talk about because I think it's a nice reminder to find happiness in the little things and it also takes things down a notch so more people might join in. Most of my "life not together" stories span over months and would probably fit better in a series about worst but most worthwhile experiences.
mk still didn't get the shout out for this! when are you seeking submissions by?
TNG mentioned iPhone, but I just wanted to share Sony Audio Recorder for Android, I think it's a decent app and would be perfect for this. And obviously Audacity for Windows/Mac/Linux if you want to do anything fun with the sound. I'll see about posting something for y'all :)
Been using HD Audio Recorder Pro. Great quality, sometimes hard to find the files to transfer to my computer, but other than that works great.
YES! Thank you Cedar! Awesome recommendations and I'm glad to know you'll give it a go. fantastic!
:) Also, check out #meethubski and good luck with that laundry.
I will wrack my brains for an interesting day and recount it at the earliest opportunity. Great idea, tng!
